{ our havenhill story }

TrinaHavenhill Lavender Farm sits on a 20-acre site in the fertile Willamette Valley in Oregon, perched atop a meandering knoll with stunning views of the Pacific Coast Mountain Range. Located 7 miles south of Silverton, we are surrounded by lush countryside that renowned wineries, Christmas tree farmers and berry growers call home. Dry summers and moist winters, similar to those in the Provence region of France, provide the ideal climate for our plants to flourish.

Havenhill’s lavender is naturally grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides. We grow several varieties of lavender with the majority being L. Angustifolia ‘Buena Vista’, known for its deep purple color and sweet aroma. Our signature products are always made with the finest, all natural ingredients and customer satisfaction in mind.  Try a jar of lavender honey or indulge your senses with a soothing candle, luscious body lotion or heavenly lavender body polish. To purchase a gift for someone special or yourself please visit our market.

My general philosophy is based on James Dean’s words, “Dream as if you’ll live forever… live as if you’ll die today.” I moved to Oregon in 2001 with my two dogs, Eloise and Bogart, and the desire to nurture the environment beyond a turn-of-the-century home in metropolitan Denver. Farm living was beckoning me to the country and I couldn’t ignore it. With little knowledge of growing lavender, farming practices or living in the country I jumped right in and haven’t looked back. I’m continually amazed at the lessons the farm has taught me - I’ve learned that to improvise is a necessity. I’ve learned to be intentional about the lifestyle I want, and as embodied in rural culture, I’ve learned to savor the moment. Havenhill Lavender opened in July 2002.

The property is truly a rural retreat with a variety of features complimenting the acres of lavender that welcome curious visitors. A spring-fed trout pond, ancient oaks, tractor-tire swing and resident goats add to the captivating setting. The charmingly rustic barn used for drying lavender is a favorite hideaway and a greenhouse has been transformed into our French Market to showcase Havenhill’s gorgeous products, cottage antiques and other local treasures. Picturesque sunsets set the foothills aglow and remind me how fortunate I am to be living in harmony with nature and pursuing my dreams.

The farm buzzes all summer long with visitors, lavender harvest and our special events but there’s always time for a leisurely dinner with friends, a long walk with the dogs, a dip in the pond or a glass of wine while watching the sunset. It’s in these moments that I truly appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

Our business model is simple – always offer the highest quality products and service, educate and inspire others, connect with and give back to the community, and stay in tune with nature’s allure.  It is my hope that our customers find the sweet whisper of Mother Nature and a serene comfort in the products we sell and in visiting the farm.

I encourage you to come visit, relax with a picnic, laugh on the tire swing and share our paradise during our summer hours and special events. We look forward to seeing you.
